Artist in Residence
Offered in collaboration with the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design. Art has always been an important part of innovation. The artist in residence at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site will interact and respond to visitor inquiries about the life and 100th anniversary legacy celebration of Mabel Hubbard Bell through their chosen art medium. You’ll leave inspired to create your own works of art!

Launch of "Mabel and Alec - Their Lives Through Letters" Exhibit. A new exhibit featuring the letters of Alexander and Mabel to each other will officially open on July 11, on their 145th wedding anniversary, at the Alexander Graham Bell Historic Site. The exhibit will be available all season at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site.

Today is National Garden Day! 2022 has also been designated as the Year of the Garden. https://livethegardenlife.gardenscanada.ca/ Mabel Bell loved her gardens! Both flowers and vegetables. She was known, locally, for the potato field she planted at Beinn Breagh estate during the First World War to help supply food during the war.

The Alexander Graham Bell Foundation is hosting a special luncheon on Tuesday, August 2nd to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Alexander Graham Bell passing and also honouring the recreation of the Mabel bell gardens at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. This fundraising luncheon will be held at the Bell’s home, the exceptional Beinn Breagh Hall, overlooking Baddeck Bay.
